beauty…

You are already beautiful.

It’s ok to know and believe that.  Just be careful not to find your identity in it (above that of Christ), because without evening knowing it, you will then have secretly placed it on a pedestal within your mind, thus enabling it to become a hidden idol — and a dangerous one at that.  When traced to the very beginning, one of the greatest angels in all of existence (Lucifer) fell, but the root of his great sin was very subtle — his beauty.

“your great wealth filled you with violence and you sinned”
(ezekiel 28:16a)

“your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty”
(ezekiel 28:17a)

It starts with beauty/vanity, then leads to pride, then somehow leads you to subconsciously question why you need God.  Then complacency sets in and you know where that can go.  Beloved, I love and care for each of you and just want to make sure your heart continues to burn and live for Him.

  1. HAHA I just read the rest of your posts. Sorry you got sick, bummer. Yeah, there should seriously be a rule against people trying to set you up. its like they think because you are 25 and single there must be something wrong with you…lol. When you tell them its a choice and you are totally ok with it and in my case I really like being single, they really raise their eyebrows. Its really bad when you work with all women and a guy walks in the office…or your co-worker keeps trying to get her grandson in to see you. Anyways, I also think you are getting wise in your old age , you just have to say the same thing in a few weeks when I turn 25, lol.

No, pictorious is not a word, but it certainly sounds like it should be huh? Anyways, making up words is something I do on a daily basis (look at the top of my site) and especially when I’m playing Scrabble. I have NO idea why Shelly won’t let me use all of my GREAT words. 🙂

Have a good day! Is the top an excert from your book? Or just a general, “hey!” ? Cause it’s good. 🙂

  5. Hello there! I would definitely recommend going to Guatemala!!….Beautiful country, incredible people, and endless opportunities to minister….oh man, the need!! ~ life is too short! I wish everyone could have that opportunity to go to a place like that ~ it‘s life changing! ~ Awesome post !!~ Beauty…a word that applies to anyone ~ simply because they are the creation of God. As humans we are prone to get so caught up in the physical beauty that this world often seems to measure our worth by. The only true beauty that is radiant, worthy, and forever is the beauty that comes from experiencing His presence….from being constantly on our knees before Him in purity, humility, and passionate love. …beauty that inspires people who come in contact with us not to be content where they are…but to hunger for more.~ awesome!!! ~ ok, so…long comment ~ my comments are always too long and usually state the obvious . ~ ANYway, good post! May His presence and beauty be evident in each of our lives as we seek to go deeper in Him. God bless! ~Mary~
