esoal update…
I’m hearing word that the storm had to bring things for ESOAL inside due
to the rain and cold weather. I’m also hearing that they had to
do an “interactive movie” to accomodate for lost time from the
hurricane with the whole “if you fall asleep, you’re out”… except the
movie ran at early evening. Weak (unless people were getting sick
left and right). Correct me if I’m off here.
On a personal note… Last year I was in charge of all logistics and volunteers. I say that because it’s just a
little weird having ESOAL go on in the background while I’m just going
through normal life this weekend. What’s scarry is that when I heard
that the hurricane was influencing a delay of events, I felt
responsibility to talk to Dave to let him know a contingency plan…
sheesh… what was worse is that I actually thought of contingency
plans! Folks, IM TWENTY HOURS AWAY and it’s doing this to me!

lol..I so wanted to be there this year! I’ve never facilitated..just participated…I even had butterflies in my stomach as I was thinking of all those interns just waiting to step onto the field…water bottles, bandanas….nervous stomachs. oh yeah. I love ESOAL.
I’m sure my ESOAL was “improved” to better strech me because of your contingency plans…

Hey Eric, a lot of people had to ring out because their temperature was too low. It’s still going on as we speak, they’re out at the OC. Everything seems to be running smoothly and if it doesn’t the interns wouldn’t know the difference, you know. Last night after the movie (The Last Castle?) they still weren’t allowed to sleep until after they wrote their letters. The consequences come later on if they did fall asleep…anyway, just wanted to let you know how things are going since you keep thinking about it. I’m sure everyone and their dog (Abby:)) will post updates once the whole thing is over, it could go as late as 8pm our time and so far it’s the longest ESOAL ever…
