top 10 things I’ve learned…

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been praying for me and supporting me with love, cookies, meals, glasses of water, pats on the back, encouragement, etc… over the past 3 weeks.  It has not gone un-noticed as my love language is thoughtful attention when in need (is that a love language?) and little notes of encouragement on my desk, etc…  a blessing.

So, I gathered a top-10 list of things I learned through this cold

10. I learned how to bake a potato. (I’m a big fan of baked potatoes)

9. I hate being sick.  (this was one of the worst sicknesses I’ve ever had… blah)

8. … but i needed the rest.

7. I learned to be more confident in who I am in Christ.

6. I want to be there for others who need help and can’t move.

5. I have a better idea of who some of my real friends are.

4. P.S.: I really have beautiful friends who care for me.

3. I like to be babied. (confession)

2. I learned several ways to take better care of my body so I wont be like this when I’m old.

and the number 1 thing I’ve learned through this virus….

1. This was the first time I really missed my mom. (she took a 1am phone call from me and talked for an hour with me)

  1. Oh… Erik i didn’t know you were still sick. i guess that is why i never heard form you. I’m so sorry, but i’m glad your better now, and glad there were friends to take care of you. i miss my mom right now and its real bad when i’m sick too.

  2. it’s always good to learn things…even when the times aren’t the greatest.

    glad you are getting better!

..and I don’t think thoughtful attention is actually a love language but gifts and encouragement are….so I guess that counts…

amen to seeing God move in our schools!  Sarah Gunsolus went home to Georgia and spoke to her brother’s school and 3 people got saved and quite a few who were Christians commited to make their faith known!  Halleluja!

  4. I can’t take a sick-of-work day to spend with Jesus, because if everyone that wanted to do that ended up doing that every time they wanted to, there would be zero work done.

Besides, I can’t afford to take a vacation day

  5. It is always good to hear from a brother every once in a while…:) I have missed you, Erik! I will see you this summer…:D Just for a weekend though…:P booo! I work during the week, so I won’t be able to volunteer this summer…:( that made me sad, but I have a job, right? You are an awesome brother! 😀
